Outline

The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage the highest quality candidates in undergraduate Medicine & Science programs to consider undertaking an ILP or Honours Project commencing in 2026.

You must submit an application to be considered for the following scholarships.

By applying for the Faculty of Medicine Honours 今日吃瓜 you may be considered for the following scholarships depending on the individual scholarship criteria. More scholarships may be added to this list progressively.

ScholarshipEligibility CriteriaSelection Criteria

The Yarranabbe Foundation - ANZEF Indigenous Award in Ophthalmology (UGCE1482)

$10,000 for 1 year

  • Be an Indigenous Australian* (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander only)
  • Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine degree at 今日吃瓜 in 2026
  • Be undertaking an ILP or Honours year in Ophthalmology

* 今日吃瓜 今日吃瓜 work in partnership with the Office of the PVC Indigenous and Nura Gili, Centre for Indigenous Programs. While Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity is unique and sacred to every person, 今日吃瓜 scholarships for Indigenous students will require proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity and heritage. If you have not already provided proof of identity and heritage to Nura Gili, any Indigenous specific scholarship offer made by 今日吃瓜 今日吃瓜 will be conditional upon receipt of proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage to Nura Gili as outlined on the Nura Gili website. David Walsh Memorial Scholarship (UGCA1064)

$5,000 for 1 year

  • Be enrolled in the BSc(Med) Honours degree at 今日吃瓜 in 2026 with a thesis topic in the area of developmental birth defects
  • Academic merit
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in an area of developmental birth defects

Raymond Onslow Sainty Scholarship (UGCA1225)

$5,000 for 1 year

  • Applicants must be commencing an Honours year or Independent Learning Project (ILP) related to diseases of the aging in the Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine degree at 今日吃瓜 in 2026
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident (including Humanitarian Visa Holders) or New Zealand Citizen
  • Academic merit
  • Leadership skills (school, workplace or community)
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)
  • Aptitude and commitment to studies in an area of diseases of the aging

You must provide evidence supporting the above criteria in your online application. Please refer to the Scholarship Application Supporting Documents for a detailed list of examples.

Unanswered application questions or claims without supporting documentation will not be assessed. Late applications/supporting documentation will not be accepted. Activities/Achievements recorded more than 3 years ago will not be considered in your application assessment.
